My name is Adrian Stancil-Martin.

I’m a student at Lawrence University, and I’m running to be District 11’s Alderperson for the Appleton Common Council!

Lawrence is at the heart of the city, yet we lack student representation in the Common Council. I’m running to be that representation. As your Alderperson, I will do what you elected me to do—represent you. Not just for the Lawrence community, but for every resident of District 11.

I will ensure that every voice in my district is taken into account. You will be the first and most important consideration in every decision I make.

Growing up, with my mom working as a Spanish teacher and my dad working a 9-to-5 at an advertisement agency, I understood the importance of hard work and dedication early on.

Their dedication instilled in me a commitment to make a meaningful impact wherever I go.

I carried this value with me to Appleton, where I am involved in student government at Lawrence. I also work an on-campus job.

Beginning in 4th grade, I grew fascinated by magic tricks of all kind. This drew me to the great Harry Houdini, and as a result, the city of Appleton. I chose to be a part of this community and spend the formative college years of my life here.

I have never experienced the level of community and belonging that I do here, and I wouldn't want to change a thing.
